INTERNET
COORDINATOR UPDATE |
|||||||
Have you visited the NWR Website recently?!! If so, you’ve probably noticed the 87th Call to Conference. The 2005 Northwestern Region Conference is April 29-30, and May 1, 2005 in Missoula, Montana. If you look at the Call to Conference, it may seem like the call of previous years. And it is the same in many ways. But it is different in one very important way. This year’s Official Call to Conference is available ONLY online. That’s right, this is the first year that the region is communicating the information for the conference via the internet only. We all knew it was going to happen, and that time is now.
Not everyone is able to attend the Region Conference. But for those of us who are not going to Missoula, we can learn a lot about what happens at a Region Conference, just by reading through the Call to Conference. It can help us learn more about what it is to be a Soroptimist. Speaking about learning more about what it means to be a Soroptimist, have you checked out the newsletters of other clubs on the NWR website?!! Just click on ‘Library’ and then ‘Club Newsletters.’ It’s a great opportunity to read about what other clubs are doing. What a great way to share the Soroptimist spirit! I was surprised to see so many clubs in our region that do a monthly newsletter. Wow! Have you ever done an exercise routine for several months and then go to pick up something heavy – something that previously was too hard to lift – and you lift it with ease? That’s because you’ve toned your muscles and they are ready for action. It’s the same with being a Soroptimist. The more we know, the more prepared we are when asked to help – with anything from sharing ideas, to organizing an event, to stepping up to lead as a member of the board. The more we know and understand, the easier it is for us to take action. The NWR Website www.soroptimistnwr.com is the place to go for your Soroptimist workout. Kathy Purcell
