SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF
SEQUIM
Club activities are organized into seven committees listed
below. All members are on the Garden Show Committee and WIN Committee and at least one other
committee. Committee participation provides members with an opportunity to
make new friends, learn new skills, and share your talents!
FINANCE Audit, In-House
Raffle, Budget, Committed Funds, Uncommitted Funds This
committee oversees the finances, expenses as well as incoming funds and
their distribution.
COMMUNICATION/IMAGE
Website, Newsletter, E-Mail/Phone, Marketing, By-Laws, Program Focus Reports
This committee is responsible for communicating information within the club and for promoting a favorable image of Soroptimist to the community.
MEMBERSHIP Attendance,
Roster, ROAR (Recruit, Orientation, Retention) This committee
maintains records about attendance and member updates for our roster. It
recruits new members and educates all members about Soroptimist purpose,
objectives and history.
EDUCATIONAL
SUPPORT
Awards, Scholarships, Girl of the
Month, Women's Opportunity, Violet Richardson, Woman of Distinction, Making a Difference for Women Awards
This committee determines recipients of awards and
scholarships based on specific criteria.
PROGRAMS
Speakers/Program
Meetings, Hospitality, VIP Luncheon, Installation, Evening Meetings, Medical Loan
Closet, SOS - Saturday of Service, Quadrennial Project, Grant of Friendship, Any Special Project.
This
committee covers hospitality for the club, both for internal events as
well as those reaching out to the community. Our Medical Loan Closet is an
on-going program that loans new and used medical equipment to help those
in need.
WIN (WOMEN IN NETWORKS) PROGRAM
ROPES, Kick-off, Field Trips The WIN Program was undertaken to increase educational and career opportunities for local young women, which will help to provide long term well being.
GARDEN SHOW
Advertising/Merchandising, Raffle, Sponsors,
Garden Cafe, Speakers, Vendors, Vendor Support,
Treasurer, Set-up/Tear-Down, Transportation, Rover, Soroptimist Table.
The Garden Show is an annual
event and our main fundraiser of the year. All club members participate in
this project which brings the community together. |
