- GARDEN SHOW –
The 15th Annual SOROPTIMIST Gala Garden Show was a wonderful success! What a way to welcome the spring! To view a photo gallery of vendors click here.
- BARN SALE – Save the date – May 18, 2013 – for the Soroptimist Gala Barn Sale. Here’s a chance to find that perfect item to complete your feng shui.
- AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS –
SI/Sequim will be honoring their April and May Girls of the Month at our April business meeting. This month we will be reviewing the high school scholarship notebooks. We will meet the chosen recipients of our eight $1,000 scholarships at our May program meeting.
- GIRLS CIRCLE –
Girls Circle is continuing with seven girls in the group for this 12-week session, which ends sometime in May. At that point in time, we will take part in another happy Girls Circle graduation celebration! The SIA club grant our three Soroptimist clubs received, funded five new curricula were delivered last week. We were able to use the discount earned by the county employee attending facilitator training, so that was helpful. The titles of the new curricula are: Paths to the Future; Wise & Well; Mind, Body, Spirit; Relationships with Peers; and Friendship. Additionally, one more county employee is scheduled to go to training in June; the grant will be paying the registration for that.
- SEE'S CANDY – While April showers nourish your plants, let See’s Candy nourish your spirits. See’s Candy is available for sale year-round at Artisans Creative Consignment at 609 W. Washington Street, in the JC Penney Plaza in Sequim. Stop in for a sweet treat!
- SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY –
SI/Sequim supports many organizations within the community. At a recent meeting President Shelle presented a $500 check to Nita Lynn for First Step and a $250 check to Sue Christensen and Rochelle McHugh for Sequim Senior Meals.
- CLUB GIVING - You will notice something new on the bottom of the left column. SI/Sequim contributed $1,000 to the Club Giving for 2012 - 2013. This new badge identifies our club as providing outstanding support for women both in our community and around the world.
